Why?

Tanzanian cities are vulnerable to floods and climate change impacts due to rapid and uncontrolled urban growth and insufficient urban planning. Digital (spatial) data can provide valuable insights and evidence on how cities can be planned, lived and developed in more resilient manner. This competition aims at finding data visualization solutions, which increase understanding for resilient urban development in Tanzania.

For whom?

Tanzanian university student groups interested in developing novel data visualization solutions to improve urban resilience in Tanzanian cities. We encourage students to form mixed teams of 3-5 persons, with different types of expertise (ICT, programming, geoinformatics, geography, urban planning, urban design, disaster management etc). The competition is ideal for university students interested in developing their digital data visualization skills through co-learning and group working, and finding visualization solutions for real world needs.
