Flood Resilience

Ramani Huria — Community Mapping for Flood Resilience

A groundbreaking initiative training university students and community members to create detailed maps of flood-prone areas in Dar es Salaam. The data directly informs city planning, disaster preparedness, and infrastructure investment decisions.

Open Platform

Tanzania Climate Risk Database

An open-access platform aggregating climate hazard data, vulnerability assessments, and risk maps for all regions of Tanzania. Used by government agencies, NGOs, and researchers for evidence-based decision making.

Drone Mapping
Urban Planning

Zanzibar Urban Mapping Initiative

High-resolution drone mapping of Zanzibar’s historic Stone Town and rapidly growing urban areas. Creating 3D models and detailed basemaps to support heritage conservation and sustainable urban development planning.

Resilience Academy Founded

Formalised as a training platform with University of Turku partnership.

Climate Risk Database

Launched the national climate risk data platform covering all regions of Tanzania.

2024

Multi-Country Expansion

Expanded operations to Kenya, Mozambique, and Uganda with new chapter offices.
